Dinosaurs: The Return of Giants

I created 26 digital 2D illustrations of Portuguese Dinosaurs and Pterosaurs, with enought detail to be printed in life-size for the exhibit. The largest, Lusotitan, was printed at a staggering 12 meters in height!

ILLUSTRATIONS

Melkamter pateko

December, 2024

I illustrated the newly described Melkamter pateko gen. et sp. nov., a monofenestratan pterosaur from Patagonia, Argentina. This illustrations was commissioned by paleontologist Alexandra Fernandes and was used in the scientific article describing this new taxon.

Toothy Pterosaurs!

March, 2024

I illustrated an indeterminate Gnathosaurine and an indeterminate Rhamphorhynchine, based on Lusognathus almadrava and Rhamphorhynchus muensteri respectively. These illustrations were commissioned by paleontologist Alexandra Fernandes and were used in a congress poster presented at PaleoSpring Meeting 2024. 

Docodonta indet. & Rhaetelv Formation

January, 2024

I illustrated a putative Docodont from Late Triassic/Early Jurassic Greenland and a couple of the animals that lived alongside it, for the Master's Thesis of my friend and colleague Sofia Patrocínio.

Crocodylomorphs of Lourinhã

 06/11/2019 – 07/12/2019 

I illustrated 5 Upper Jurassic crocodylomorphs from Portugal for the news of the publication of the article 'Palaeobiodiversity of crocodylomorphs from the Lourinhã Formation based on the tooth record: insights into the palaeoecology of the Late Jurassic of Portugal' in the newspaper Público.

Cardiocorax mukulu

 22/04/2019 – 18/08/2021 

I illustrated the elasmosaurid plesiosaur from Angola, Cardiocorax mukulu, for the news of the description of a new specimen, in the article 'The cranial anatomy and relationships of Cardiocorax mukulu (Plesiosauria: Elasmosauridae) from Bentiaba, Angola', in the newspaper Público.
